Collection of Folk Art
The characteristic building of Kecskemét gave home to the first permanent exhibition of folk art in December 1984. The five sectors of folk art (carving, pottery, weaving, embroidery, folk craftsmen works) are presented in the spacious exhibition rooms of approximately 800m2. Temporary exhibitions can also be organized. There are workshops for children, where not only them but also adults can follow the presentations on folk arts or series on preparing traditional dishes. In the 200-year-old former brewery pieces of folk carving, pottery, weaving, embroidery and other crafts are on display. Children can take part in the plays of rural life.
