Kodály Institute
Built between 1700 and 1736, the former Franciscan monastery stands next to St Nicholas Church, also known as the Friars' Church. Designed in a restrained Baroque style, the monastery has been home to the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music since its conversion in 1975.
The Institute attracts students from around the world who come to study and further develop the internationally renowned Kodály Concept of music education. As one of the world's leading centres for Kodály studies, it plays a key role in preserving and promoting the composer's educational legacy.
Visitors can also explore an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of Zoltán Kodály, offering insights into his achievements as a composer, ethnomusicologist and music educator.
